All I Want For Christmas is to Sell Some Books – to Sell Some Books – to Sell Some Books. All I want for Christmas is …
Wanna make an Old Silly happy and do yourself and/or a loved one a favor at the same time? Got some last minute Christmas shopping to do? Here’s a novel (pun intended) idea for ya…
Buy one of my books!
Yupperdoodles, it’s shameless self-promotivation time today on Free Spirit as I am announcing a Christmas special offer. AaaaaannnNND now …
here it is!
Whoever buys a copy of Owen Fiddler or Between the Storm and the Rainbow between now and the end of Christmas Eve, and emails me at marvwilson2020 at gmail dot com with a copy of proof of purchase, will receive a FREE copy of my first release, I Romanced the Stone (Memoirs of a Recovering Hippie).
I know, I know, I’m too kind – call me a soft Old Silly. Oh – and if you already have a copy of I Romanced the Stone? Let me know that and I’ll substitute a copy of one of the newer releases for ya. Fair ’nuff? Thought so. What’s that? You already have all three books? First of all, I LOVE YOU! – and secondly, pick up a copy or two for some family and/or friends, right? It’s Christmas, baby!
Okay – here’s the books and a quick rundown on them. You can click on the titles or the cover images to go directly to the buy page. Aren’t I just the accommodating one, hmm?
Owen Fiddler
Owen Fiddler wants to tell you his story. It just might be yours!
(Everyone sing along to the tune of the Beatles’ “Nowhere Man”)
Has a selfish point of view, why he’s such a fool, no clue. Isn’t he a bit like me and you? Owen, man, please listen. You don’t know what you’re missing. Owen, man, your world is at your command!
He’s no role model for you or your kids, but reading his story will learn ya a thing or two, and that’s a fact. This is an entertaining, thought-provoking, humorous and spiritually insightful book which will surely have you thinking about your own life.
“I heartily recommend reading Owen Fiddler for a spiritual perspective on life that will cause you to think about your own actions and behavior. Whether or not you believe in God, a higher being, heaven, law of attraction, or any type of life after death, you will walk away from this novel having at least been inspired to glimpse the possibility that there is more to life than a simple daily existence. ” -Lisa Haselton, award winning writer/editor/book reviewer

I Romanced The Stone (Memoirs of a Recovering Hippie)
”From one nightmare to another” in I Romanced the Stone, Marvin Wilson carries us through the horrors of addiction to the glory of salvation in a rollicking, sometimes terrifying journey to joy.” – multi-published historical novelist, Peggy Ullman Bell
“Marvin Wilson destroys all the stereotypes of drug use on both ends of the scale. He is neither part of the Hollywood/New York “elite” associated with upscale drug abuse, nor is he a part of the underclass. He is just an average middle class guy who fell into a bottomless pit.
His recovery from drugs and the recovery of his marriage is an inspiration for anyone who has felt that their lives had become hopeless.
His book takes the reader on a ride of emotions as he shares a truly remarkable story of despair and redemption.
This is a must read.” – Walter Sorg, WILS Radio Talk Show Host
So there you have it, gang. This offer is extended through midnight, EST, December 24, 2009. Have a jolly day, a wonderful Holiday Season, hopefully made even better by the acquisition of one (make that two, with the special offer) of these books, and remember the Old Silly loves y’all!
psst – ‘fore ya go, Adam Atom send his regards – he’ll be back in typical smashing atom form next week in his regular Monday feature spot.

Well I DO have all three, and I love you too, Old Silly! lol. But I know a friend who could use the “Owen Fiddler Experience” so …
You are SO appreciated, Cactus!
Nothing wrong with self promotion, and that IS a generous offer. Thanks!
Hm – well I been WANTing to read one of the Old Silly’s books, so mebbe this is just the right time to take the leap. Nice offer, dude!
Good stocking stuffer special, Marv!
LOL!
I second your sentiments, Marvin!
Good promotion Marvin could do with a good promotor myself.
Seriously where do one aquire your books?
Take care
Yvonne.
Ps. WHAT NO ADAM?
Yvonne, like the post says, just click on any of the bookk titles or the cover image and it will take you to the online stores to obtain copies. And ol’ Adam WILL be back next week.
Darn it, ya beat me with a great idea. I haven’t even promoted my books this season. I’ve read the first two and highly recommend (never could spell that word) them. I am flat broke now or I’d take you up on the offer.
I’ve read all three and loved ‘em. When’s your next book coming out, Marv?
Stan, I have two books I plan on releasing in 2010. One by spring time and the other in the Fall. Stay tuned!
And muchas gracias for having all three pub’s so far, dude!
Gosh you’re good, Marvin!
Ok, I’m emailing you the receipt for “Rainbow.” You write so well, I know it’s going to be a treat. You’ve been on my TBR list for a while….you just got bumped up!
Elizabeth
Hey thanks, Elizabeth – I just saw your receipt in my inbox. You’re the best – happy reading and happy holidays!
“All I want for Christmas is to sell some books,” sounds like a really catchy tune. I think you should put it to music!
I enjoyed reading Owen Fiddler and have your other books on my to read list.
Hold the phone!
You’re an author?
A published author?
I never knew!
Hmm.
Miracles do happen!
(Just kidding! *smile*)
LOL, miracle indeed. If someone had told me even 6 or 7 years ago I’d be a multi published author I’d have told them they were quite mad, lol.
Good for you, Marvin. We all need to learn to self-promote “shamelessly.”
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, ole silly.
Karen
Adorable, Marv. But I hate the “shameless” word. That’s because it implies that there is something to be shameful about. If we don’t think we have something great to offer people, that we are in fact offering them something they need, will enjoy or whatever, then who will?
Love. No shame. Er–how ’bout lots of caring!
Best,

My darling mentor and teachor, HoJo – the Old Silly does truly stand corrected! LOL, totally know what you mean, and actually that was a rather tongue in cheek statement. I have NO shame in self-promotion, and i DO care to share.
Thanks for dropping by, and Merry Christmas!
Marv, best wishes for your continued success for 2010. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Stephen Tremp
That is a nice offer, even if you are “pimping yourself.
I’m looking forward to reading your stuff!
Hello old silly,
I couldn’t find an email address to write to you, so I’m writing to tell you I just finished “I Romanced the Stone.” I read it in one sitting. Couldn’t put it down. I’m having a hard time reconciling the “Old Silly” I’ve met here with the man in your memoir. You are one amazing dude and my admiration for you has skyrocketed. I thought I had a story to tell (well, okay, I do and did), but man, you sure overcame a lot and told it so well.
Blessings, Marvin. And by the way, your wife is a Saint.
Karen
If only you weren’t so shy, Marvin.
Love that you get out the word on your books. You’re the king.
